Ride for Kids 2018 is a 3.500 km bike ride to raise money to brighten children's lives. Follow former professional football-player Thomas Sørensens journey from one side of Australia to the other - through South Australia, Victoria, Tasmania and New South Wales, to raise money and awareness for Australian charity Starlight Children's foundation. Ride for Kids is a tough experience full of physical challenges, but not a race. The participants will have plenty of time to enjoy the Australian surroundings and the social aspects.

PanzerGlass' role

During Thomas' ride across Australia, the PanzerGlass Team follow behind and organise Hammer Days and events at various locations along the route to create a buzz and awareness for the good cause and Ride for Kids.

Protect your phone = Support the cause

For every PanzerGlass™ screen protector sold through our channel partner Telstra, PanzerGlass will in conjunction with Telstra donate $2.00 AUD to Ride 4 Kids to help Thomas achieve the target of raising AUD 150.000 for the Starlight Children's Foundation to help brighten children's lives at hospitals in Australia.

Ride for Kids 2018 takes place between the 28th of February and the 1st of April and will have riders from Australia, Denmark, England, and the USA joining Thomas Sørensen. Ride for Kids consists of three main stages; Adelaide-Melbourne, Tasmania, and Melbourne-Sydney.

Thomas will be organising the trip by himself with help from his family, while his crew along with the PanzerGlass Team will support him every kilometre.

The event is all about bringing people together for a common cause; Uniting the joy of cycling with the passion to help others to brighten children's lives.

Thomas Sørensen, played two FIFA World Cups, 364 EPL games and two A-League seasons before retiring. An impressive feat for the now-former professional soccer player, who is now focusing on raising money to brighten children's hospital experience.

Since 2005, Thomas has been involved in charity work, especially for sick and disadvantaged children. In 2015 he did a bike ride across the USA and raised $150.000 AUD for the good cause.

All funds raised by Thomas Sørensen during Ride for Kids go to the Starlight Children's Foundation Australia.

Starlight's mission

Starlight’s mission is to brighten the lives of seriously ill children, teenagers, and their families. We help sick kids simply be kids by turning pain, fear, and stress into fun, joy, and laughter.

Starlight Children's Foundation brightens the lives of sick kids by turning pain, fear and stress into fun, joy and laughter. The broadest reaching children’s charity in Australia, Starlight supports sick kids of all ages, regardless of their illness or injury.

Last year Starlight created 426,000 Starlight experiences for sick kids and their families. There’s a Starlight Express Room in every children’s hospital across the country and over 130 Captain Starlights deliver joy and laughter to sick kids every day!

Starlight also supports sick teens through Livewire which runs 2,000 or more creative workshops in hospitals each year. And last year Starlight granted 525 life-changing Starlight Wishes. Starlight is proud to be the Most Trusted Children’s Charity in Australia. (AMR Charity Reputation Index 2016).
